After Northwestern University and Miami University he became a member of the Actors Studio in NYC, under the direction of Lee Strasberg. The Metropolitan Opera Training program started William professional carrier with the Metropolitan Opera Sextet, appearing in "Carmen" "Le Nozze di Figaro" "Boris Godunov" "La Boheme" "Mcbeth" etc. His singing carrier moved to Broadway, Winter Garden Theatre, in Mel Brooks / Joshua Logan / Charles Strouse / Lee Adams musical "All American".
