            ENDING SPOILERS:The day of Danny Gopnick's bar mitzvah arrives. As he goes to read from the Torah, his mind freezes and he stands as if in a trance. He looks at his family, and back down at the Torah. All at once he comes into focus and begins chanting from the Torah flawlessly. As parents Larry and Judith watch proudly, they start to hold hands and arms, as if beginning to reconnect. Judith suddenly tells Larry that Sy always admired Larry very much, and secretly wrote letters of recommendation on Larry's behalf, to the college tenure board.At the completion of the ceremony, Danny is told about the rights and duties of being a full member of the community and the synagogue. He is given a kiddush cup and told that he has been granted an audience with Rabbi Marshak.Danny goes into Marshak's office, and sits in front of him. Marshak speaks slowly, almost haltingly, and in a way that suggests he's a little addled. He begins to quote lines from Jefferson Airplane's 'Somebody to Love' (not quite accurately) and recites the names of the group's members (again, not quite accurately). He then gives Danny back his confiscated radio and simply says, "Be a good boy."The scene begins to switch back and forth at this point between Larry at his office in the college, and Danny at Hebrew school. Arlen visits Larry at his office, congratulating him on Danny's bar mitzvah and speaking about the need to savor such moments of family blessings, with which Larry agrees and promises to do. Carefully emphasizing that he is speaking off the record and didn't actually 'say anything,' Arlen insinuates that Larry has earned tenure at the college.We then see Danny listening to the radio through his earphones, discreetly goofing off during Hebrew class again. He sees that the $20 he secreted in the radio's leather belt pouch to pay for the pot sold him by Mike Fagle, is still there. He tries to carefully whisper to Fagle, whose seat is in front of him.Larry opens some of his mail and one of the letters is a legal bill for $3,000.00. Going to his grade book, he stares at the F given to Clive Park, and after some thought, changes it to a C minus. Abruptly his phone rings.Back at Hebrew school, a principal's aide enters and whispers to the teacher, who announces that a tornado warning has sounded and all students are to be ushered into the synagogue basement.Larry answers his phone and it's Dr. Shapiro, who congratulates Larry on Danny's bar mitzvah but then suddenly announces he wants Larry to come into his office to discuss the results of his X-Ray, which Larry was shown getting near the beginning of the movie.Back at Hebrew school, the kids are all waiting in the parking lot as the teacher fumbles with his keys. Wind is picking up and the teacher can't seem to pick out the correct key to open the door to the basement.Back at Larry's office, Larry asks if he can talk on the phone about the X-Ray results, but Dr. Shapiro feels it would be best done in person. Larry asks when, and Dr. Shapiro says now; he's set some time aside for Larry to come to his office right away. It's suggested strongly that Larry is seriously ill; possibly even terminally.Prior to this, Larry's wife informed told him she wants a divorce and moves her new partner, the condescending Sy, into their home. Larry is farmed out to a motel with his ne'er-do-well brother, Arthur.The final scene is back at the Hebrew school. Danny sees Mike Fagle standing in front of him and calls out to him, looking to give him the $20 he owes him. Suddenly Fagle turns around and stares over his shoulder at Danny, and Danny freezes on seeing what Fagle had been looking at: a funnel cloud heading straight toward the school... and all the kids, as the teacher is still unable to locate the correct key to the basement.Fade to black as 'Somebody to Love' by Jefferson Airplane begins to play.

            The Bellmen is a zany comedy that revolves around a group of bellmen who work at an upscale resort in Tucson, Arizona. We begin with our hero, the bell captain Steve (Adam Ray), leading a tryout on the roof to see who is worthy of becoming a B.I.T. - Bellman in Training. Once Josh (Josh Zuckerman) wins that honor, he is put through the wringer by his co-workers.Though Steve proclaims to be a "bellman for life", he vies to get Kelly (Kelen Coleman), the chef concierge, to give him a second chance by lying about a promotion. Steve begs for assistance from Michael, a former bellman and old pal who is now the front office manager, to make this promotion happen. While they attempt to keep up the fib and avoid Alan (Willie Garson), the rooms division manager intent on busting him, things get complicated when a shady spiritual guru named Gunther Gochamonet (Thomas Lennon) has a plan to buy the hotel from the owner Sid Whitman (Richard Kind), through devious means. Steve barges into one of Gunther's seminars in an effort to expose him, but fails in epic fashion, resulting in both Steve and Josh being fired.Michael tracks down a despondent Steve in Mexico and convinces him to clean up and redeem himself. Steve finds Josh working as a sign spinner, and recruits him along with the other bellmen as they attempt to stop the sale of the hotel. After taking down Gunther, saving everyone's job, and winning Kelly back, Steve ultimately passes on the promotion and decides to remain a bellman, while Josh finally becomes a full-fledged bellman.

            REBECCA (Marin Ireland) is a terminally unemployed actress rooming with an equally unsuccessful screenwriter, SARFRAS (Aasif Mandvi). Much to the derision of her WASP family, comprising of senators (Amy Redford), judges (Peter McRobbie) and lawyers (Kerri Bishe), Rebecca ekes out a living by caring for a blind diabetic woman whilst careering from one disastrous relationship to the next.When invited to understudy the movie star, SIMONE, star of the "Drive By" trilogy, HARWIN (Kelli Giddish), in Electra, Rebeccas unfulfillment is compounded. Despite outshining the "Queen of action movies" with her talent, Rebecca finds herself bullied or ignored by the cast and crew, including IAN, the neurotic director (Richard Kind) and the duplicitous stage manager (Marcia Debonis). Her salvation appears to be in a relationship with the seemingly perfect NY Firefighter, BOBBY (Paul Sparks).A bout of flu for one actress leads to a life changing opportunity for another. Rebecca is thrust into the lead role on the first preview, winning the hearts of her colleagues, the audience, the critics and her formerly disapproving family.Success breeds success. Sarfras sells his script to a Hollywood studio with Rebecca attached to play the lead. A star is born. It all hinges on a triumphant performance of Rebecca as Electra. Opening night and the world is watching as... Simone miraculously recovers to reprise the role. Rebecca is distraught and evades the cast party hiding in the balcony, only to be discovered by the patronizing star. An argument leads to a tussle and Simone tumbling into the orchestra seats and into a coma. Rebecca, not knowing where to turn, finds herself thrust back into the title role at the price of sleepless nights and living with her fire fighter boyfriend who is becoming increasingly possessive and possibly psychotic. Rebecca struggles to hold onto her sanity as the spotlight is cruelly taken away from her once more and she finds herself replaced by the petulant pop diva, GRETA (Gloria Reuben). The maligned understudy is humiliated once too often. On finding that the arrogant celebrity suffers from a nut allergy, Rebecca decides to create an anaphylactic gateau which kills the unfortunate "Princess of Soul" during intermission.Two lose one star is unfortunate, to lose two brings the attention of the police to the doomed production, in the form of sardonic DETECTIVE JONES (Tom Wopat) and the ambitious CHIEF KINSKY (Reiko Aylesworth). Can Rebecca hold onto the leading role and her freedom?

            Mike Christian falls in love with a Jewish girl, Dylan. Her grandparents disapprove, but finally agree to their marriage after Mike converts to Judaism. Dylan's parents divorce has badly affected her and she comes up with a long prenup which Mike signs without reading. They honeymoon and return to the house the grandparents have bought for them. After four months of marriage Mike comes up with the idea of franchising the family business to make money, he is joined in this by his best pal Scotty. After putting together a business plan they approach a large business only to find the CEO is on her way to a golf/business week. Dylan takes out a new visa card to allow Mike to track the CEO down and broker the business deal, because this will make or a "happy husband". Mike tracks the CEO down and find she is actually Alex, the girl he was supposed to take to prom 13 years earlier and did not happen due to interference from her dad. The spark that was there before reignites and they start a relationship. Mike e-mails Dylan to ask for a divorce and immediately afterwards finds out she is pregnant. Dylan refuses the divorce. Following the prenup Dylan refuses the divorce. The prenup has a clause that a divorce can only happen with a formal divorce ceremony with everyone from the original wedding and the bride and groom in their original clothes. This has to be followed by a formal ceremony paid for by the person wanting a divorces. Also the person bringing the divorce has to explain the reasons.Mike spends a lot of time organising the ceremony and getting people to attend. On the day he decides he loves Dylan and apologises to Alex and stays with his wife.
