Nicholas X. Parsons is an American actor and documentary filmmaker. He grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. During high school he attended The Governor's School for the Arts and studied Theater for 4 years under the direction of Michael S. Tick. He is also a graduate from George Mason University, receiving a B.A. in Acting.Upon graduation, Nicholas began a 1 year study of 'The Michael Chekhov Technique' under the tutelage of Yuri Kordonsky (current professor of directing at the Yale School of Drama), and had the privilege of being directed by him in one of his first U.S. productions: 'Antigone', at the now defunct Classika Theatre. From this experience and discovering a different approach to his craft, Nicholas was encouraged to pursue a career path towards his original dream to work in film and television.Having no formal training in acting for the camera, Mr. Parsons soon began studies with Keith Flippen at 'The Actor's Place' for 2 years. He stayed local to the South-East market to gain knowledge, experience, and to learn the dynamics of the business. In time, and with patience, Mr. Parsons began working with some of the biggest names in the business on projects all over the Southeast.Nicholas's first break came when he was cast as the 'Motel Clerk' in the dark comedy Sztanga i cash (2013), opposite Tony Shalhoub, Mark Wahlberg, and Dwayne Johnson under the direction of Michael Bay. For the small screen he is best known from season 3 of Nie ma lekko (2011), recurring as the quirky computer hacker sidekick 'Stanzi Palmer'. Luckily he also had the opportunity to be directed by Taika Waititi early in his career in an episode of the short lived TV series Sredniaki (2012).Nicholas X. Parsons continues to play a diverse range of characters in all genres: From the dramatic lead in the Christian themed film Power of the Air (2018), starring opposite the legendary Patty Duke, (in what would be her last cinematic role); to the short lived character of 'Bicycle', who sets the story in motion for Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani in the Romantic-Comedy Gołąbeczki (2020). For his next project, Mr. Parsons brings to life 'Ned', the endearing buddy of Stephen Louis Grush & Justin Timberlake in the Indie feature Palmer. The film is directed by Fisher Stevens and produced by Academy Award winner Charles B. Wessler. In addition to acting Nicholas X. Parsons has been producing, writing, directing, and editing his first documentary feature A Horse of a Different Color (2021). It is the story about his personal 20 year journey in discovering and trying to better understand the world of 'Different-Abilities', stemming from his unexpected friendship with "The Professor" Jeff Watkins: "A blind, physically disabled advocate, struggling to be normal in an able bodied abnormal world."
