A workplace dramedy that goes behind-the-scenes with an unruly group of campaign workers and volunteers living life on the campaign trail.

Edward Norton narrates the story of one of the most unlikely social movements in American history: the battle to convert thousands of miles of abandoned railroads into trails for cycling and walking. Facing fierce opposition and legal challenges from private property owners, advocates fought to reclaim these corridors for the public, creating a national network of scenic, car-free paths. The documentary is loosely based on Peter Harnik's From Rails to Trails: The Making of America's Active Transportation Network (2021), the first book to recount the full history of the U.S. rails-to-trails movement.
