Maki Saruwatari was born in Osaka,Japan. She started twirling baton when she was 2 years old and started training classic ballet one year later, then got into the world of dance when she was 7 and fell in love with what a human body can do through its movement and art of telling stories with dance. In her high school, she majored Dance and learned various style of movements, she also started teaching her own class when she was 16. With her graduation from high school, she moved to Los Angeles and has trained by assisting well known choreographers Andre Fuentes, Shawnette Heard, Tricia Miranda and Phlex. She has worked with some major artists, also has been choreographing for multiple projects and worked with top directors/choreographers in this industry such as Shawnette Heard, Amy Tinkham, Andre Fuentes, and Gen Cleary to name a few. Her debut as a choreographer was a resident show at Marquee night club on Las Vegas Strip with DJ Chuckie, since then she's choreographed multiple live shows and music videos, as well as teaching and training young dancers in the U.S and Japan.
