Lesa first became interested in acting around 8-years-old, the same year "The Little Mermaid" came out. She was fascinated by Ariel's character and unique voice and from that point on, was obsessed with film and wanted to be involved in all creative projects moving forward.She started her career in high school where she participated in a collaborative educational effort between her high school and the local trade school in her home town. She studied Radio and Television broadcasting, which ended up opening the door for her to work as a radio DJ her junior year and then as a production assistant and teleprompter operator her senior year. She learned so much about the behind the scenes work, but her natural talent was being on camera. So, within a year, she left the broadcasting industry to pursue on-camera opportunities.For the five years that followed, she pretty much lived out of a suitcase because she was traveling and doing modeling work. At the young age of 23, she ended up on American Idol (semi-finalist) and then won Miss GA USA (2006) and got 2nd Runner up at Miss USA.In June of 2006, Wilson moved to Atlanta and started working as an actress. Almost immediately after the move, she booked a part in a short film called "Belles." It was a story about 4 southern girls who were living their best lives and it focused on their friendships. She played the part of 'Caitlyn;' the bubbly, always positive, annoyingly happy friend. It was her first real experience working with a cast of actors and it was the project that landed her my first Atlanta agent. After that, the rest was history.Wilson is very passionate about Environmentalism. She volunteers with Environment Georgia and Trees Atlanta to be able to protect the places she loves and promote core environmental values, such as clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and clean energy to power our lives.
