            Kotigobba 2 is about one person donning the dual shades of good and bad . Satya (Sudeep) is a mild-natured, small-time youngster running a real estate agency, led by thumb by authoritative Shubha (Nithya Menon). Satya leads another life as Shiva (Sudeep), a burglar who loots the huge unaccounted money stocked by filthy rich businessmen. His purpose is to realise his fathers dream of becoming a billionaire, riding a Mercedes Benz car and leading a posh life. He manages to convince the cops and those around him that those crimes are the handiwork of his look-alike ruffian twin Shiva. However, the two businessmen (Mukesh Tiwari and Sharath Lohitashwa) he robbed from, and Kishor (P. Ravi Shankar), a corrupt cop who tries to use this as an opportunity to make money, are keen on nailing him. Meanwhile, Satya falls in love with Subha (Nithya Menon) who is a upright and brave girl. The police needs to nab the burglar. Sathya himself launches a complaint that it is his brother Shiva who does all the crimes. A corrupt Police ACP Kishore (P. Ravi Shankar) does not believe the existence of two people and suspects the hero and villain to be one, but he does not have the evidence to prove his claim. At the end Sudeep proves that he is Kotigobba

            In ancient India, the two kingdoms of Kottaipattinam and Kalingapuri have always been enemies to each other. One day, a young boy named Rana from Kottaipattinam becomes distraught and runs away from his family by jumping into a river, despite protest from his twin brother Sena, and washes up near Kalingapuri. He's raised by fishermen and in time becomes close friends with prince Veera Mahendran and is trained to be a heavily skilled warrior. When he's grown up Rana gains heavy respect from the subjects and is invited to see the labor force of Kalingapuri, consisting of war prisanors from Kottaipattinum. Rana proposes that they train the number of slaves in their kingdom to become warriors, which Veera's father, King Mahendran allows. Rana trains the slaves and over time they become a skilled force to conquer local kingdoms. As the ultimate prize, Rana suggests laying siege to Kottaipattinum as he's convinced the slaves now despise the kingdom that has abandoned them. Declaration of war is sent to king Rishikodaghan of Kottaipattinum and Rana leads the army of warrior slaves to the kingdom, however he strangely ceases fire and is invited into the kingdom by his old friend prince Sengodagan, son of the king. He also reunites with his childhood love interest princess Vandana, Sengodagan's sister. It turns out that Rana had plotted to free the war prisinors and had discussed this plan with them before the supposed war. Mahendran recieves word of Rana's treachery and swears revenge.Rana reunites with his sister Yamuna and their uncle, but is told that Sena has gone missing after a battle. Rana is shown around the kingdom and saves Rishikodaghan from an accident, so the king grants him a wish. Since Sengodagan had expressed feelings for Yamuni, despite being a woman of lower class, Rana requests their marriage to which Rishikodaghan accepts. However after the wedding the king disowns his son and revokes his privledge to the throne for not marrying a member of royalty, which Sengodagan tolerates. One night, an intruder breaks into the castle and attempts to kill Rishigodaghan, but his daughter stops the intruder whose revealed to be Rana. Rana is arrested for treason and Vandana wonders why her friend would try to hurt her father. Rana explains that his own father Kochadaiyaan was a powerful warrior and skilled general of Kottaipattinum's army and gained heavy respect from the people which made Rishikodagan jealous. One day, while escorting a shipment of horses and weapons many soldiers of the kingdom are ambushed by enemies from Kalingapuri. The enemy soldiers are defeated but not before shooting poisoned arrows into the food supply crates, leading to Kochadaiyaan's army falling sick. With no choice, he pleads with king Mahendran to keep his men alive which he agrees to, as slaves in his kingdom along with all of the horses and weapons.When Kochadaiyaan returns to Kottaipattinam he's unjustly charged with treason by Rishikodagan. He is punished with execution and his wife, Rana, Sena, and Yamuni's mother protest that he did what needed to be done to keep the kingdom's men alive but she's silenced. Rana hugs his father, as allowed by the king just before he's executed. Kochadaiyaan is beheaded before Rana's eyes, much to his horror. After telling the story Vandana becomes angered at her father's actions but finds that Rishikodaghan intends to get her an arranged marriage to prince Veera Mahendran to seal truce to the war between the kingdoms. Rana escapes from the dungeons and crashes the wedding the next day, speaking up against Rishikodaghan's actions. King Mahendran is outraged and his men begin to attack, and Rana summons the former slave army and the rest of Kottaipattinam's forces as defense. The two kingdoms clash and Kottaipattinam repel's Kalingapuri's army. Rana kills king Mahendran but spares his son in reminder of their friendship. He also finds Rishikodaghan and beheads him in revenge. Shortly after, he's confronted by his brother Sena who has returned, but is enraged that he killed the king their father taught them to protect. The movie ends as they persumebly fight.

            Having believed a police officer's life to be a happy one with lots of money coming in the form of bribes, Karnan, an orphan, grows up to become a corrupt Sub-Inspector who forms an immediate friendship with the local don ECR Kaalirajan by releasing his four brothers Kumar, Prakash, Vinay, and Sabari from lock-up, who were all arrested for smuggling. Karnan's attitude does not go well with his subordinate Abdul Kader, a sincere police constable. In vain as it is, he tries to oppose Karnan's deeds.Meanwhile, Karnan meets and falls in love with Sindhu, who gets kidnapped by Kaalirajan's men on her birthday but is rescued in time by Karnan. Kaalirajan then scolds his henchmen for kidnapping the wrong person and apologizes to both of them. As her birthday gift, Sindhu requests Karnan to save the girl who was supposed to be kidnapped and killed by Kaalirajan. A reluctant Karnan fights Kaalirajan's goons and saves the girl, Santhiya. Karnan somehow reconciles with Kaalirajan later and learns that Santhiya has certain evidence against Kaalirajan's brothers. Karnan meets her and learns that her sister Bhavani was kidnapped, raped, and brutally assaulted to death by Kaalirajan's four brothers for two weeks, and this act was recorded by them. The footage was stored on a camera, which is with Santhiya now. Karnan takes the camera and arranges to send both Santhiya and her mother to the States.Before their departure, Santhiya's conversation with him leaves him shattered. Realizing that he was indeed responsible for the rape since he allowed the brothers to escape, Karnan is devastated and soon realizes that he has changed after he fights off Kaalirajan's goons sent to retrieve the camera at the police station, with Kader notifying the change in him. He soon manages to track the brothers and beat them all up before arresting them. After Bhavani's corpse is found and the autopsy is performed, Karnan produces the camera as the evidence, which turns out to be an empty one. Though no further evidence exists, Karnan asks a gap of one day to provide necessary evidence so that Kaalirajan's brothers do not escape as exonerated. Later, Kaalirajan's men attack a drunk Karnan when he is alone. After a brutal fight, they bury him alive, but he manages to escape.Karnan reaches the court the next day, and to everyone's shock, he adds that he is one among not the four, but "five" men who sexually assaulted Bhavani. He then convinces the judge to sentence all five of them to capital punishment in order to ensure that the other four do not escape punishment. This statement shakes the entire course of the case, and Karnan is publicly resented. He is allowed by the commissioner to watch as all four of the brothers are hanged to death, after which he too is hanged. Merely hours later, Santhiya and her mother arrive in Chennai, publicly revealing that Karnan was not involved in the rape of her sister, and the sacrifice he made was to ensure punishment to all of the accused criminals. The revelation shocks the nation, and the people who misunderstood him eventually mourn his death as his corpse is bought and walked from the gallows. The film ends with Karnan's final words: "All men will now fear an immediate death sentence, if they ever molest a girl."

            A cop named DCP Rudra is transferred to a new police station. As the city is riddled with crime and corruption, he decides to bring law and order back for which he has to go against Nagori Subramaniam the local mafia. He does not believe in the system of going by the book and instead fights fire with fire.The movie was rumoured to be called Thanedaar - Part 2, referring to a previous hit movie of Sanjay Dutt did during his younger days. However Dutt did not feel comfortable with the movie backing on the success of Thanedaar, considering the fact that the story was not written keeping in mind the original Thanedaar. Furthermore the directors and producers of the original Thanedaar were different. Subsequently Sanjay Dutt suggested to brainstorm for another name. He suggested Policegiri and the unit was happy to call this movie Policegiri. Policegiri was actually not a word in use but something Sanjay Dutt created.[1]
