Kathryn Carpenter was born Kathryn Emma Holland on 1st December in Basingstoke, Hampshire. But is fondly nicknamed 'maggit'' after those white wriggly things that eat rotten food. Her nickname is also spelt incorrectly...but it stuck.Leaving her home town (also known as doughnut city) behind Kathryn travelled 20 miles down the road to attend Drama School at the age of 23, where she was a bit of an 'oldie' compared to all the fresh faced 18 year olds. So she gave out heaps of 'useless' advice about the 'real' world. After graduating, sadly, she didn't get round to having a tantrum in McDonalds and being spotted by a top modeling or casting agent or dating a Hollywood producer. Actually, she's quite polite, shy and doesn't like confrontation. In fact, some fast food chain staff members might actually kick her ass. Anyway, Kathryn found she was overlooked by most agents and didn't have a clue how to market her skills. So she decided to find her own work in films, commercials and theatre. Eventually, her hard work and determination payed off! Actually, it was her amazing agent, Lisa's hard work that got her through the door of her first big break. She will be eternally grateful to her for taking a bit of a gamble on her.It wasn't long before Kathryn auditioned and was cast as the goddess Athena in her first Hollywood Movie 'Wrath of the Titans' where she had the opportunity to work with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. It came as a bit of a surprise as she felt a bit like 'Jabba the Hutt' in the waiting room full of super models, so, she thought that she'd just use her dazzling wit and humor at the audition instead. Little did she know, that they actually wanted someone that loosely resembled 'Jabba the Hutt' so she was immediately cast.Kathryn went on to do more film, commercial and theatre work. Producing and writing scripts for her children's theatre company 'Beanstalk Productions.'Kathryn has two children, a 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl and has a blast looking after them. She considers it a privilege and complete honour to be able to watch her children grow and be a big part of their lives. "We have broken every rule in the mummy book and we are loving it!"
