Karent Hinestroza is an actress from Colombia, with a BA in Drama from the University of Valle in Cali, Colombia. Her diverse acting experiences spans from feature films to television to theater to radio. In 2013 the Academy of Art and Sciences for Cinematography in Colombia gave Karent the Macondo Award of best lead actress for the movie Chocó. In 2014 she won the prize India Catalina for best Actress Revelation in her role in the television series La Selección that aired in Caracol Television. In 2015 she won The Guachupe de Oro Award for Social Awareness Contributions as an actress, and in 2018 she became the Afrocolombian of the year 2018-2019, by the news paper El Espectador, and Colour of Colombia Foundation, at the same time the ministry of interior in colombia gave her the award of "Leaders who Innovate". Karent has acted in several films, many theater plays, and television series, playing main roles in all of them. She has received very special recognition for her outstanding performances during her international tour of some of the most important Film Festivals in the world.
