Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, J.R. Ritcherson has been acting for most of his life. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be an actor, looking up to industry greats such as Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Sidney Poitier. Upon graduation from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in May 2009 and Adelphi University in New York in May 2011, he began touring with a Minnesota children's theatre company, Climb Theatre. While in Minnesota he booked a lead role in an independent feature film called "My Senior Year" and a supporting role in another independent feature film called "the Body of Real Things."He moved to LA in July 2012 to further his dream of becoming a professional actor and quickly picked up steam, booking roles on three web-series; the hilarious comedy "I Hate My Co-Worker", an environmental show for kids called "Smarty Pants" and a satirical show called "Concerned Citizens". You can catch him on public access channels in West Hollywood as an anchor on the entertainment news show "Mayhem Entertainment". You can catch him in a supporting role as Derek in a new feature film called "The Kid" and he is filming season 2 of the hit comedy series "I Hate My Co-Worker" as well as playing the lead role of Carlan, who happens to be a cannibal in a new horror/thriller movie "The Hunter and The Hunted." He also booked a lead role in the new edgy TV Pilot "The System".
