Johanna Thea is a diverse actress, of Swiss, English, Indian and Jamaican genetic origin who was born in Westminster and brought up in the wild natural beauty of the West Coast of Ireland. There she was exposed to a broad range of sporting, dramatic and academic persuits before being scouted on the streets of Limerick for high fashion modelling aged 16, after which she consistently worked with the Celia Holmann Lee Agency.Albeit an avid creative, writing and performing throughout her school years, it wasn't until performing at a monologue Slam in NYC's Bowery Poetry club during her 21st birthday trip, that she realised the intensity of her passion for acting. Upon her return to London she completed her BSc Honours degree in Psychology specialising in Neuroscience and Positive Psychology culminating in her dissertation "What Does it Mean To Be Happy?". This search for the recipe to hers and other happiness led her to become a reiki practitioner and work with vulnerable adults, enabling them to live as independently as possible.Following her graduation she spent a year travelling around England, Europe and frequenting L.A., meeting industry professionals and learning about the film & tv as a professional field. As of June 5th 2020 Johanna Thea will have been acting professionally for 5 years, having cultivated a strong commercial background and robust reputation among Independent filmmakers in London, Ireland and LA.
