Ivana Shein is a writer/actor who was raised in Toronto. Her father Brian Shein was a celebrated Canadian author and playwright. After graduating from the playwriting program at the National Theatre School of Canada, she won Canada's Last Comic competition reality TV show, Sketch Troop. She was selected to perform at The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, and went on to stage her one woman play, Faking It at Just For Laughs. Emmy nominee Richard J. Lewis (Westworld, Barney's Version) directed Ms. Shein in a subsequent production at The Comedy Central stage in Los Angeles. Her short play, Single, produced by LA's IAMA Theatre Company, was directed by The Blacklist's Amir Arison. The Company Theatre in Toronto gave a workshop production Ms. Shein's full length play The Lovers which examines the eternal kiss in a Chagall painting against the backdrop of our modern love. Ms. Shein is the proud founder of The Writers Kitchen (currently WriteYourVoice) an online community where she mentors and coaches up to 22 diverse writers at a time.
