
            Keepsake is an indie horror movie directed by Paul Moore that was released in 2008. With a running time of 100 minutes it stars Sunny La Rose, Robert Pralgo and Courtney Hogan.
The movie begins with Janine (Sunny La Rose), a willful and striking woman, who finds herself stranded far out on the highway because of a road accident. It is dark and her car is in bad shape so she calls the towing service for help and a pick-up from the crash site. Two locals arrive in the meantime and offer help but Janine is creeped-out by their behavior and looks, and gets back in to her car. Not long after, bearded tow-trucker Earl (Robert Pralgo) reaches the scene of the accident to help her. Earl is mute and Janine exchanges some written notes and yes-no questions before they tow her car away. They head for a gas station when she discovers the truth about Earl. Earl is not there to rescue her at all. As a matter of fact, he isnt even the black tow-truck driver whose photograph she sees on an ID card in the glove compartment. But before Janine can escape she gets assaulted by Earl who abducts her.Janine is now Earls hostage in a basement that serves as a dungeon for all his victims. The real plot of Keepsake kicks in as we now have a psychotic tow-truck driver, whose tongue has been cut out, torturing and tormenting Janine, who must fight for her survival. Janine is forced to wear a collar that gives electric shocks each time she disobeys her captor. She has thirty days before Earl will kill her and begins carving count in a wall to keep a tab of time. In the depravity of the cellar Janine is haunted by the ghosts from her past. She struggles to stay in touch with reality.
The second half of Keepsake is ripe with hallucinations and visions where Janine speaks to Alice, her sister, who advises her on how to deal with her problems. She also has several flashbacks that reveal the demons of her past. There are other instances when she talks to the zombie-like girls who are all previous victims of Earl and envisions bodies piled in the corner of the room. Janine finally finds the strength to face her torturer and finds a way to escape. But does she? She stays back to find out the truth about Earl and to discover how much of a monster he really is. She makes frequent trips out of the basement to notice the room above where Earl has built a makeshift hospital for torturing his victims. The Keepsake ends with a twist that promises to shake you to the very core of your being
