
            The film opens with a brief prologue from the previous movie for those who have not seen it:A severely injured woman who seems to be on the run from assailants, prays to God to save the small child she is carrying. That is when Sanga (Rohini) and her husband, part of a tribe living in the province of the kingdom, save a drowning infant, not knowing the background of the infant, or what the future holds for him.He grows up as Shivudu, a free-spirit wanting to explore the mountains and in the process learns of his roots from the kingdom, and his parents and then realizes the whole purpose of his life and ends up confronting the mighty Bhallaladeva for his rightful place.The PastAt the conclusion of the big battle from the last movie, Amarendra Bahubali (Prabhas) having defeated Kalakeyas, is declared King by the Mother Queen Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan) over Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubatti), who instead is given charge of the armies as a commander.There is a tradition in the kingdom that the daughter-in-law of the royal family is required to perform a sacrifice every so often by carrying hot coals in a container above her head and walk around the temple to ward off evil spirits. Sivagami carries this out as she is the only daughter-in-law of the family. Amarendra Baahubali proves his might again as he stops a disgruntled elephants that escaped its harness and was charging in the direction of Sivagami. The ceremony was carried out because Amarendra Baahubali was to ascend the throne as King.Declaring Amarendra Baahubali King does not ease the tension between the two step-brothers and rivals as Bhallaladeva considers himself the rightful King, being the biological son of the Mother Queen. As we found out in the previous movie, Amarendra Bahubali is the son of the old King, and his mother died giving birth to him. The Kings brother was seen as too weak and cowardly to take over the throne, so his wife Sivagami, sister-in-law of the King had the conspirators to the throne killed and assumed the throne herself. She was to hold power until one of the two princes proved he was capable enough of taking over the responsibility of the throne.Since Amarendra Baahubali was to take over the throne, Sivagami orders him to travel throughout the kingdom and surrounding areas and become familiar with the people and various smaller kingdoms that existed within the land so that he understood the land and the state of the people he would be ruling over. She also sends Katappa (Sathyaraj) along with him as a companion and bodyguard. In the meanwhile, the Sivagami would prepare for his coronation and search for a suitable bride.During their travels, Amarendra Baahubali and Katappa come across a village that is being attacked by bandits. There they see Princess Devasena (The woman enslaved in the royal court yard, collecting small pieces of wood from trees in a fire pit in the first movie) (Anushka Shetty), take on group a group of bandits and defeat them without much effort, while other, other men from the village fight rest of the bandits. The villagers are being led by Devasenas cowardly cousin Kumara Varma (Subbaraju). Amarendra Baahubali and Katappa also assist the villagers by quietly taking on a group of bandits hiding in the forest nearby. Amarendra Baahubali becomes infatuated with Devasena when he sees her fighting. Devasena is a princess of the Kuntala Kingdom and the sister of the ruling King. After the fight is over, the two manage to convince the princess and her cousin that Amarendra Baahubali and Katappa are uncle and nephew and that Amarendra Baahubali is an uneducated fool who was kicked out by his family for being an idiot. Kattappa manages to convince Devasena that they are simple travelers and asks her to take them in. During their stay within the palace, Devasena manages to figures out AB is not a fool but rather just putting on an act. He flirts with her during their stay falls in love with her and because she enjoys his flirtation does not call him out and just plays along.Back at the palace, Bhallaladeva learns from his spies that Amarendra Baahubali is pretending to act like a fool in order to woo Princess Devasena. He becomes infatuated with Devasena when he sees the picture he received of her. Before Amarendra Baahubali can act on his desire to marry Devasena and inform Sivagami, Bhallaladeva convinces her of his desire to marry Devasena. Not knowing about the burgeoning romance between Amarendra Baahubali and Devasena and feeling guilty for passing over her biological son in her choice for king, she promises him that Devasena would marry her son.Subsequently, Sivagami sends a messenger to Devasenas kingdom for her hand in marriage to Bhallaladeva; however, the messenger belittles the Kuntala kingdom and insults Devasena saying she should be grateful for having been offered a proposal from such a prominent kingdom. The princess in return insults the messenger and turns him away refusing the marriage proposal. Kattappa and Amarendra Baahubali who do not know that marriage proposal was on behalf of Bhallaladeva take the proposal from the messenger as meaning that Sivagami on her own decided to marry Amarendra Baahubali to Devasena. Since Devasena does not know yet that Amarendra Baahubali is the future King, he does not step forward to reveal his actual identity.A little while after Devasenas kingdom is attacked by an organized band of robbers. Amarendra Baahubali is forced to reveal himself as a warrior in order to fight alongside Devasena and defeat the enemy. Following the battle, he declares his love for Devasena and asks her to come back with him to his kingdom as his bride. Devasenas family is supportive and approves of the match.Although Amarendra Baahubali had received an order from Sivagami to take Devasena as a prisoner for insulting her offer, he tells Devasena that he will protect her, and she can come with him back to his kingdom. Once they explain the situation to Sivagami, she will accept their relationship, and it would all turn out fine.Things do not go as planned. Devasena and Sivagami almost instantly dislike each other. Devasena also declares that she will not marry Bhallaladeva because she does not love him and refuses to be forced to marry someone she does not love. Sivagami takes Devasena's refusal as an insult against her, partially because she still feels a little guilty for making Amarendra Baahubali King instead of Bhallalldeva and orders the guards to arrest her. Because Amarendra Baahubali had promised Devasena that he would not allow her to be harmed, he comes to her defense. He goes against the orders of Sivagami and refuses any harm to come to her. The actions of Amarendra Baahubali infuriate Sivagami. By choosing another woman over the Queen Mother, Amarendra Baahubali dishonored not only the Queen Mother but also the laws of the kingdom. Thus Sivagami gives Amarendra Baahubali an ultimatum. He will have to choose between being King or Devasena. Amarendra Baahubali having fallen in love with Devasena, naturally, chooses her over being King.As a result of Amarendra Baahubali's choice, Bhallaladeva is crowned the new King. Amarendra Baahubali is given Bhallaladevas old job as commander of the army. At the coronation ceremony, the people and guards at the palace cheer louder for Amarendra Baahubali when he is crowned the commander, shaking the throne by stamping the ground with their spears. Clearly, they still see him as their King. This only serves to infuriate Bhallaladeva even more. He decides that Amarendra Baahubali must not hold any power or he will continue to be a threat to his rule and de-legitimize him.The tension between the two step-brothers persists as Bhallaladeva uses every opportunity he can to drive a wedge between Amarendra Baahubali and Sivagami. He particularly uses Sivagamis dislike of Amarendra Baahubalis wife Devesana as a factor in driving the wedge even deeper. Bhallaladeva even goes as far as creating situations where Devasena appears to be in the wrong, and Amarendra Baahubali is forced defend her. When Devasena becomes pregnant, he relieves Amarendra Baahubali of his command over the army so he can spend more time with his wife. However, it was a ploy to strip Amarendra Baahubali of any power he held in the Kingdom; this becomes another fight between Devasena and Sivagami because Devasena accuses Sivagami of sitting idly by while her son takes all control. Slowly all forms of power are stripped from Amarendra Baahubali, and the Queen Mother Sivagami has been turned against him by Bhallaladeva. Once the tensions reach a boiling point at the order of Sivagami, Amarendra Baahubali and Devasena are exiled from the kingdom forced to go and live among the peasants.The couple now living at a workers village are still happy with their life having each other is enough for them. Amarendra Baahubali helps the villagers by creating tools for them so that they do not have to work as hard, while Devasena, having gotten further along in her pregnancy is preparing for the birth of her child.Back at the palace, Bhallaladeva still paranoid about the influence Amarendra Baahubali has and comes to the conclusion that as long as Amarendra Baahubali is alive, he poses a threat to his crown. Thus he comes up with a plan that would have the Queen Mother Sivagami herself order the death of Amarendra Baahubali. Bhallaladeva has Devasenas cousin Kumara Varma overhear a conversation between himself and his co-conspirator father, Sivagamis conniving but cowardly husband Bijjaladeva (Nassar). Bhallaladeva and his father pretend to have an argument where he wants to have Amarendra Baahubali killed, but his father pretends to be against the plan. This fools Devasenas cousin Kumara Varma into believing that Bhallaladevas father could be trusted and asks him for help so that Amarendra Baahubali is not harmed. Bhallaladevas father for his part of the plan convinces him that the only way to protect Amarendra Baahubali is to kill Bhallaladeva. When the plan is carried out, and Kumara Varma attacks Bhallaladeva, it turns out to be a trap, and Kumara Varma is killed. Bhallaladeva injures himself and then goes to the Queen Mother, Sivagami. Since it was Devasenas cousin that attacked him, he convinces her that Amarendra Baahubali is the one that sent Kumara Varma as an assassin to kill him out of jealousy of losing the throne and his command of the army.Sivagami, still angered at Amarendra Baahubali's betrayal of having chosen Devasena over her, is now convinced that Amarendra Baahubali would be capable of doing such a thing as having Bhallaladeva assassinated. Because Amarendra Baahubali is still popular among the people, he cannot be killed outright as it would cause lots of internal fighting. Therefore Sivagami, orders Kattappa to assassinate him quietly. Since Kattappa is bound to serve the royal ruler, he cannot refuse the order. The plan is to have a group of rogue warriors chase after Kattappa into the village that Amarendra Baahubali is living in with his wife. While this plan is unfolding, Amarendra Baahubali's wife is giving birth, but Amarendra Baahubali is forced to leaves his wife to go and help Kattappa. Although the warriors are able to injure him, none of them are able to kill him. Amarendra Baahubali kills them all, and it is up to Kattappa to finish the job. When Amarendra Baahubali's back is turned towards Kattappa, he plunges his sword into his back. After Amarendra Baahubali has died, Bhallaladeva comes to gloat over the dead body of at his victory and expresses his level of depravity by hacking away at the dead body with an ax. Bhallaladeva also believes that Kattappa is his loyal dog and in his zeal at having won reveals his entire devious plan to have Amarendra Baahubali assassinated by the order of the Mother Queen. Kattappa immediately rushes off to tell the Mother Queen of what Bhallaladeva had done and that Amarendra Baahubali had never done anything wrong. This leaves the Mother Queen Sivagami in shock having finally realized what she has done.Devasena in the meanwhile had given birth to her son (young Mahendra Baahubali) and while she is still struggling, makes her way to the palace with her new baby and is shocked to learn of the death of her husband. When Bhallaladeva returns, he asks his mother to go to the palace balcony and address the people, informing them of Amarendra Baahubali's death. Instead, she takes the baby out on the balcony to declare that the baby is the new ruler of the kingdom and Kattappa takes a vow to protect and serve him. Bhallaladeva enraged at Sivagami's declaration has the guards attack her, but she manages to escape with Kattappa's help on a boat through the water canals running through the massive palace. While she is escaping Bhallaladeva shoots an arrow into her back (the arrow we saw at the start of the last movie), and she drops into the canal/river, possibly drowned and dead along with the baby. Devasena who is still struggling after having given birth is captured by Bhallaladeva and imprisoned in the palace court yard.Present Day (25 years later)In the present day, Mahendra Baahubali (Also played by Prahbas), son of AB and Devasena is enraged after hearing the story of what happened to his parents. He orders Kattappas elite troops, the rebels he was helping to rescue Devasena (from the first movie) not realizing she was his mother and all of the people from his village to prepare for battle against Bhallaladeva and his army to take back the kingdom.When Bhallaladeva learns of the threat he orders his troops to attack, and he comes out of the palace on his massive chariot, recaptures Devasena and returns to the palace closing the massive draw bridge leading into the palace once he is safely inside.Mahendra Baahubali and his men manage to get into the city by bending long trees and using them as catapults to launch themselves over the palace walls while using their shields to make a protective shell around them. Once the groups make it inside the palace walls, the draw bridge is opened for rest of the troops to breach the palace and take the battle to the courtyard of the palace. Mahendra Baahubali goes directly to fight Bhallaladeva. The fight is evenly matched with both warriors showing their might. While everyone else is fighting Devasena, starts the sacrificial ceremony that Sivagami had completed a long time ago. Obstacles are thrown in her path, and a bridge that she needed to cross is lit on fire, but a pathway magically seems to clear for her to continue her journey around the temple to complete the ceremony. Mahendra Baahubali who finally gains the upper hand in his fight against Bhallaladeva, wraps his fists in metal chains and punches Bhallaladeva into submission. Bhallaladeva is beaten into the area Devasena was held captive for twenty-five years. The wood that Devasena had been collecting was covered in oil when the palace guards lit the bridge on fire from before. When Bhallaladeva is beaten onto the pile of sticks by Mahendra Baahubali, Devasena completes her journey exactly where he lies beaten. She dumps the coals on him setting him on fire.We are taken forward in time to Mahendra Baahubali's coronation. He is blessed by his adoptive mother Sanga (Rohini), and then the Kings crown is placed on his head by his biological mother. The movie ends with Mahendra Baahubali declaring peace.

            StoryJai (Prabhas) falls in love with Manasa (Richa Gangopadhyay) in Italy. She tells him that her family members have a notorious background of being ruthless factionists from Palnadu area. Jai has the philosophy of peace and lifestyle of love. He feels that one can conquer the world with love, not by war. He goes to the village on Manasa on some other pretext and changes the attitude of the factionists. The rest of the story is all about the background of Jai and how he became peace-propagating man.Prabhas: Prabhas is perfect in the role of Jai. Prabhass career planning lies in balancing stuff while selecting script. His character in this movie has two shades to it. One is family guy and other one is action hero. Prabhas is exceptionally good in all departments. Be it comedy, romance, action sequences, sentiment and dances. Another big advantage of Prabhas as a commercial hero is that he has a huge base of hardcore fans, but not many people who opine negatively of him. Its a good sign for a hero of such stature to grow bigger and bigger.Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is predictable and is set up against a faction backdrop. Though the writer has given it as Palnadu, its more like filmy Rayalaseema backdrop. Despite having a redundant story elements (Brindavanam, Dammu and Sankham), the director has succeeded in getting the commercial payoffs right and narrating the film by balancing all aspects. There are two plots, two heroines and an effective interval that joins the two plots together. Most of the writer-turned-directors have the inclination to create unnecessary scenes to inject dialogues. But, Koratala Siva followed the screenplay first and wrote dialogues as per the demand of script. Hence, you will find dialogues seamlessly blended into narration. However, the director has shown a high degree of violence amidst a family orientated set-up, which in unwarranted.

            In Thiruvanmyor Chennai, the powerful don and extortionist Mayil Vaanganam feigns a heart attack to draw in his rival Sundar, whom he believes is rising up to his power. Sundar and his men break into the hospital where Mayil awaits them. Mayil slashes Sundar's throat with a sword and his men retreat. Narration explains that Mayil makes living off threatening and blackmailing company owners and makes sure to stay hidden from the law and avoid arrest.Further south in the city of Thoothikudi, sub inspector Durai Singam thwarts a temple robbery in his home village Nallur. His best friend and colleague, the buffoonish constable Ezhrumalai gives chase to an escaped fugitive in a rock quarry only to get injured. Ezhrumalai meets back with Singam after he solves a family dispute, in which Singam demonstrates pride and loyalty to the village folk which he sings about after a soccer match.Afterwards, wealthy buisnessman Mahalingam and his daughters Kavya and Divya arrive in Thoothikudi to visit their grandparents. Ezhrumalai visits Singam's family: Singam's father Soundrapandi, his mother Kalyani, his grandmother and his sister Dhanalakshmi and her kids. Ezhrumalai is tasked with transporting criminals to jail but gets dragged away by one who escapes. Later that night, many villagers flee upon seeing a tiger. Singam sees a person in a costume and slaps her, revealing it to be Kavya. He warns her not to pull such a prank again and Kavya feels insulted. The next day, she, Divya, one of her friends and her houseworker Palani go to the temple to prank Singam. Before they can chuck him with a stone Singam apologizes for the misunderstanding and Kavya begins to have feelings for him.In Thiruvanmyor, Mayil extorts a rich father in exchange for his son's life. Back in Nallur Ezhrumalai prepares a biriyani made from a goat he stole from the farmer Madhasami. Madhasami confronts him and Singam leaves. Ezhrumalai gives Madhasami a goat and retreats, revealing it to be a dog instead. Kavya later visits Singam to help find her missing necklace. When he deduces how she lost it she further admires him. Kavya later pretends to loose her phone and creates a fake cut on her arm to feign mugging all in order to catch Singam's attention. Singam finds out that she has been lying and confronts her, to which she admits she has feelings for him. Singam reciprocates but Mahalingam and Soundrapandi get into a fight after the former insults policemen, whom Mahalingam does not like.Mayil continues to threaten land owners and proceeds to threaten an elderly one who has taken an unlawful bribe from the Revaneu Department. Mayil and his brother Vaigundham threaten to frame the man for rape and murder if he refuses to pay them a share. The man commits suicide but not before writing a farewell email to his children in America mentioning Mayil by name. Kavya, Divya and their grandfather visit a theater where they are harassed by a group of goons. They turn to Singam for help, who brutally beats the goons up.Because of the suicide, Mayil comes in as a suspect and has to head to Nallur to sign a condition bail. Vaigundam assigns their friend Harbour Shanmugan who is stationed in Thuthikoodi to sign in his place. Shanmugans men attempt to sign the bail but Singam busts them and confronts Shanmugan. Singam demands that Mayil arrives in Thoothikudi as soon as possible and threatens to get a warrant to arrest him otherwise. Mayil arrives in Thoothikudi and angrily confronts Singam for dragging him all the way from his home and even threatens to kill him. The villagers attack Mayil's vehicles and riot in response. Singam has Mayil seal the bail and sends him off, leaving him humiliated. Mayil swears to get him back.Not to long after, Singam is transferred to Thiruvamyor as the new inspector, which he finds out is because of Mayil's influence. Mayil confronts him at his new station and promises to make his job and life miserable. Over the next few days Mayil's men harass the station and cause trouble in the city, but Singam is unable to take action since they bend rules and merely bug him. Singam tells Kavya that he wishes to resign if Mayil keeps troubling him. Kavya tells him that Singam of all people shouldn't give up on establishing justice no matter how hard it seems, and that his family and people wouldn't respect him if he cowered. Singam retaliates and starts arresting Mayil's men one by one even if they don't break any laws and frames them for crimes. Assisant commissioner Rajendran is angered at Singam's insubordination and confronts him, but Singam kicks him out of the station. Mayil is infuriated at Singam's retaliation. Vaigundham confronts Singam and is met with arrest for destroying a government F.I.R although Singam tore it apart.Singam confronts Mayil in his house and makes it clear that he won't surrender to him ever. After finding out he has a large network of contacts Singam believes he is doing something else illegal other than extortion. Kavya further interacts with Singam however Mahalingam has found out and strongly disapproves of their relationship. Singam also has Ezhrumalai transferred to Chennai after he flunks a smuggling case in Thoothikudi. Singam finds Mahalingam acting suspiciously and finds out that Mayil has kidnapped Divya for money. Singam realizes that this is how he extorts the public. After the exchange is made Singam further investigates Mayil and is promoted as the new assistant commissioner and leader of the anti-kidnapping force. Singam tracks down and arrests a lot of Mayil's contacts and troops to prevent any more abductions. After Vaigundam attempts to draw Singam into a trap and arrest him, Singam kills Vaigundam leading to Mayil shooting Kavya. Kavya is admitted into the hospital and is alright, but Mayil murders Singam's friend Ravi who worked with him since he came to central Chennai. Mayil threatens to kill everyone Singam loves.Singam later recieves support from Mayil's friend, the home minster of Tamil Nadu Ramnathan, who knows nothing of Mayils neferious activities. Singam manages to expose Rajendran, who's been working for Mayil to support his family. Rajendran lies to the press that Mayil kidnapped his daughter and Mayil is forced to tell Ramnathan that he gives politicians money to support their activities in that manner. Ramnathan is infuriated and orders Mayil's arrest. Mayil's house is searched through and has a warrant placed on him.Mayil kidnaps Karnatika's home minister's daughter and tells Singam that if he doesn't get out of India safely that she will suffer. Singam tracks him to a farming village and shoots the girl to force Mayil into letting her go. Singam fights Mayil at a fishing harbor and wounds him. He tells Mayil that he won't arrest nor kill him, but leave him be. Since all of Chennai is against him and he can't do anything about it. Mayil arms himself and looks for Singam who sees him coming. Singam believed he could arrest him if he regretted his actions but since he doesn't, Singam shoots Mayil dead.Singam is congratulated for his bravery and initiative, but Singam decides to resign his job and follow his true passion and run his family's store in Thoothikudi. Ramnathan visits Singam, revealing that the resignation wasn't entirely true and that Singam has been assigned to investigate dangerous weapon smuggling in Thoothikudi. When he finds out why it's happening he is to take action and put a stop to it.

            It's been eight months since former police officer Durai Singam had killed extortionist Mayil Vaaganam. Singam publicly resigns his job as ordered by Home Minster Ramnathan in order to secretly investigate observed weapon smuggling on the coasts of Thoothikudi. One night, Singam observes a smuggler named Saghayam and reports his activities to the police. However the local inspector turns out to be working for the smugglers and gives Singam's position away. Saghayam's men chase Singam and attempt to kill him but he fends them off. The next day, Saghayam is confronted by his boss Bhai, an influenctial don who runs a criminal empire in Thoothikudi. Saghayam assures Bhai that they'll find out who thwarted them. They suspect David, a resident who has been taking their products unauthorized. Saghayam nabs David and murders him, throwing his body overboard his boat.Singam is revealed to work as the N.C.C master at a local school district since he was previously educated in military. A student named Sathya breaks into the school and leaks the computer science exam paper online, and Singam is called in to investigate. Assisted by peon Susai, Singam traces a pair of lost contact lenses in the office room to Sathya and confronts her. He initially threatens to expel her but finds that she is academically successful and cheated when her teacher treated the students unfairly. Sathya begins to have feelings for him, especially after he defeats a don and his men when the attack the school in response to the don's son being punished in class. An officer Karim from Thoothikudi's police district confronts Singam for getting involved in the fight, but he's let go of. Singam appreciate's Sathya's quick thinking and thanks her. Singam and his fiance Kavya's family later discuss terms of marriage but Soundrapandi is disappointed with Singam quitting the police and refuses marriage in anger, to Mahalingam's disappointment as well. Susai later shows Singam around the coasts and tells him about Saghayam and Bhai's activities as observed by locals, but that Bhai has strict influence on the law. Sathya's uncle Thangaraj is a buisnessman and owner of a shipping company, and keeps Bhai and his forces in check when the police do nothing about it.After further investigation, Singam finds out that Bhai and Saghayam are actually smuggling cocaine into India and selling it to locals. Saghayam discusses with his men the whereabouts of Bhai and his unnamed partner's higher authority, the international drug lord Danny who lives isolated from society on his yacht in the middle of the ocean. Danny murders an Australian border officer in the meantime and instructs Bhai to take in a new shipment of drugs. Not long after, Sathya calls Singam stating that she's been abducted. When Singam arrives at the Manapad Church where she called, she reveals it to be a lie and confesses feelings for Singam. Singam angrily scolds Sathya and tells her to give him her necklace to close the abduction as robbery. Thangaraj becomes enraged and orders his men to find the supposed kidnappers. He calls Singam in personally to thank him but becomes mistrustful and begins to verify his status. Singam make sit clear to Sathya that students cannot be in relationship with a teacher and to let him go. Singam contacts Ramnathan to give a status report on the smuggling case. Singam explains that statistically a small amount of drugs shipped into the nation can claim tens of thousands of young school student's lives through drug parties and trades, and that only a small amount of arrests for drug related charges are made, not enough to wipe out the buisness. Singam states that in order to fully finish the drug trade they must find the leading suppliers. He has also requested that Ramnathan transfers his friends Ezhruamali and Dhamodarai to help him.The next day, Sathya quits the school hoping that she can have a chance with Singam that way. After spending Valentines Day with Kavya, Singam is forced to take charge with the police immediately after Saghayam kidnaps a girl named Selvi, whose brother belongs to a rival gang and insults Saghayam's caste. Bhai and the other don's gangs clash and riot in the city and injure many police. Singam sends the entire force to fortify parts of the city and arrest the gang members. Singam traces the kidnappers by their cell signals to a hotel and track Saghayam to a private island where he holds Selvi hostage. Singam arrests Saghayam and kills his men, ending the riots. Thangaraj is informed of Singam rejoining the force and Soundrapandi later decides to approve marriage. Upon rejoining the force, Singam befriends officer Karim and allows Susai to live in Nallur after he helps Singam arrest Saghayam. Singam continues to investigate the drug case and bust any shops and merchants selling cocaine. Additionally, Sathya stubbornly tries again with Singam when he rejoins the police even after Singam explains to Sathya that it's not possible. Kavya's houseworker Palani sees them together and gets suspicious, and informs Kavya.Singam sees Thangaraj speeding and follows him, where he heads out to sea. Singam finds himself in Bhai's territory and it's revealed that Thangaraj has been Bhai's anonymus partner all along. Thangaraj gets angry and scolds Saghayam, who has been paroled with Bhai's influence, about starting the riots. Bhai assures Thangaraj that the police force under Singam's leadership has only been busting drug trades and that they'll never be caught. Singam immediately decides that they must arrest Saghayam again and find that he's a suspect in David's murder. He sends the force to get blood samples from David's family and Karim to find David's corpse. As Singam and the police work to connect Saghayam to the cause of David's death, Thangaraj plans a party in which he decides to invite Danny after 12 years of isolation at sea. Thangaraj plans ahead and invites Singam's superiors to keep them off the case. Ezhrumalai tracks Saghayam's whereabouts and finds that he's made a trip outside the coast. On the night of Thangaraj's party, the police force closes in on Saghayam when he escorts Danny to his harbor. Singam initially becomes suspicious of Danny when he hangs with Saghayam's men. He lets Danny go but arrests him when Danny insults the police. Karim finds that Danny's passport is fake and that he has no Visa or work permit for the harbor.Bhai informs Thangaraj of Danny's arrest and Thangaraj has many politicans and authorities whom he's friends with call Singam and get him to let Danny go. Singam figures out that Thangaraj is pestering the station into letting Danny go and wonders why it's so important. Singam researches Danny and finds out his identity as a drug supplier. Singam is called by his superiors who are at Thangaraj's party as a set distraction. In the meantime Bhai sends several men to bust Danny out and obliderate the station. The attack kills many police and injures Karim, who is hospitalized. Danny is escorted out to sea again where he calls Thangaraj and scolds him to kill Singam for insultingly arresting him. Singam sends the entire force out to find Danny to no avail because of Thangaraj's influence on the city, and he's scolded by his irresponsible superiors and punished with suspension. The next day he confronts Bhai and swears to bring Danny to justice. Singam tells Ramnathan the next day that using standard rules to deal with Danny will not work and that they'll have to form a coordinated operation to arrest every drug supplier in the city and nab Danny. Singam rejoins and takes charge of the force, getting his superiors suspended and systimatically arrests Bhai's men and anyone who's been buying drugs.Singam is later visited by Sathya to take her necklace back and is seen by Kavya. Singam explains Sathya's one sided feelings towards him and Kavya states that she'll talk to her. Because of Singam's interference, Bhai sends a Sri Lankan assassin to kill Singam. The assassin shoots Ezhrumalai by accident and is chased by Singam. Singam and the assassin fight in the central city and Singam shoots the assassin. Bhai sends a car to kill the assassin and he's called by Singam with an arrest threat, sending him on the run. Sathya is confronted by Kavya that afternoon about hitting on Singam and Sathya insults Kavya. Singam confronts Sathya and she tearfully apoligizes, and later becomes friends with the couple. Singam later traces Bhai who intends to take in Danny's new shipment and deliver it to Saghayam, who's hiding out after Danny's escape. Bhai travels to Chennai and Singam has officer Rajendran and his colleagues friends who are on the police force track Bhai to a forest hideout. Singam and his men ambush Bhai's gang and have them all arrested. Bhai's entire army attacks the city but Singam fortifies Thoothikudi's center again and has them arrested and beaten. Singam also manages to get all the police who work for Bhai fired. Thangaraj calls up Danny and tells him to stay away from India because of this. Danny calls Singam personally and informs him that he won't win, to which Singam replies that he will find him wherever he's hiding and arrest him. Singam confronts Thangaraj and informs him of his knowledge of his treachery. He calls up police scouts in the town of Rameshwaram to kill Saghayam and spares Thangaraj hoping he'll reform. Mayil Vaaganam's former ally Harbor Shanmugan informs Singam that Thangaraj has hired goons to kill Singam. Singam confronts the goons that night and fends them off, telling Thangaraj that he'll retaliate.Singam has a parcel of cocaine sent to Thangaraj's house to catch him for drug smuggling, to Sathya's worry. During the seizure at Thangaraj's house, his men tell him that they checked Sathya's car GPS and that she had never been to the location where she claimed to be abducted, and the fact that she now has her necklace seemingly supports this. She has also taken notice of her uncle's Ipad password simply to play on it, but Thangaraj suspects her niece is working with the police and instructs his brother, Sathya's father to murder her. Sathya is found poisoned the next day but Singam refuses to believe it's a suicide since he told Sathya about her uncle's illegal activities and that she was killed for it. Singam confronts Thangaraj in jail and beats him up in retaliation, and swears to get him a death sentence for killing Sathya. Using Thangaraj's seized phone, Singam traces Danny's cell activity and finds that he's in contact with a friend in South Africa and that he's resting in Madagascar. Singam gets support from Ramnathan despite the government's cancellation of their drug arrest operation. He gives Singam all the valid documents to head to Durban South Africa just days before his marriage with Kavya. Singam tells Kavya he can't rest till he finds Danny since Sathya already sacrificed herself for his work.Singam lands in South Africa the next day and joins major Carl Ambrose of Durban's police force and the two work together to find Danny and his contact Alex, a Durban based don. After a car chase, Alex is killed and Danny escapes to the harbor. Ambrose's men arrest Alex's troops and Singam confronts Danny on his yacht, shooting most of his crew. Singam fights Danny and overwhelms him. He brings Danny to India under arrest and jails him in Thoothikudi, afterwhich he reunites and marries Kavya.

            It's only been a few months since officer Durai Singam arrested Danny, and Singam is called into Vishakapatnam, Andra Pradesh by it's Home Minister to solve the long pending murder case of Commissioner Ramakrishna as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police. When Singam arrives in Vizag he's attacked at the train station by the goon Gun Ravi, who works for Vizag's most powerful don and buisness owner Madasudhana Reddy. Singam defeats Ravi's men and Ravi is scolded by Reddy for assaulting a police officer unnecessarily. Singam heads to Vizag's police station and meets Inspector Subbo Rao, officer Srinivas, and Constable Veeram. Veeram used to live in Thoothikudi and is a big fan of Singam, confirming that Bhai and Danny are currently in prison while Thangaraj has been killed. Veeram asks Singam about his marriage but the other officers are confused since he stated he was unmarried. Singam tells Veeram that he and his wife Kavya are divorced, which is later revealed as a cover to keep her protected. Kavya also visits the station and Singam pretends not to no her. Singam is also visited by Vidya, a fangirl who asks for his autograph at the train station. When Vidya makes frequent visits to Singam it bugs him and he dismisses her. Veeram and Vidya become friends in their common interests.Reddy calls his higher authority Vittal Prasad, a buisnessman stationed in Sydney, Australia who ships wastage from medical and electronic companies in exchange for free steal supplies for his company Vittal Steals. Vittal confronts his friend Steve for signing an oppositional agreement against him and beats up his wife in retaliation. Vittal calls his father, the Aviation Minister Ram Prasad to investigate Durai Singam when he gets update of his presence by Reddy. Back in Vizag, Singam fights a group of Reddy's men who threaten a custom's officer for blocking Reddy's shipment containers from Australia. Singam calls Reddy himself and covers the attack claiming to be his secret ally, and begins to investigate the case and inquires Ramakrishna's family. The commissioner's wife states that he attended a murder call and was killed on that night. She sends Singam away when he tries to talk to her daughters, stating that Krisharaj, the assistant commissioner touched them innappropriatly when he came to inquire. Krishnaraj also told Singam earlier that he had no knowledge of Ramakrishna calling him. A confused Singam hires a hacker named Murili to hack into the cell company's network and find that a call took place for a few seconds during the Commissioner's murder to a man named Mallaya. Vidya later pays visit to Singam claiming to be a student for a police academy and simply wishes to learn from him.A constable in the station falls sick mysteriously. After investigation, Singam, Subbo, and Srinivas find that the medicine tablet was sold without a permit under Reddy's authority and that the medicine originates from Australia. Singam pays visit to Bheemli Selvam, one of Reddy's men who authorized the attack at the train station. Suspecting him of murdering the Commissioner Singam searches his house and finds Australian money and a firearm. Reddy calls Singam and assures him that Selvam is permitted to have them. Vittal is also informed of the arrest by Rajeev Krishna, who works with Reddy and owns Vizag Scraps company. Veeram and Srinivas show Singam an article written about him being a corrupt extortionist threatening Reddy, written by an author Agni who's revealed to be Vidya. Vidya is actually a journalist hired to write a thrilling story in Vizag and she chooses to portray Singam as such. Singam's family and Home Minister Ramnathan are confused by the article and Reddy suggests to Singam to keep his head down. Singam is called and informed that the same people who killed the commissioner also murdered security guards around the same time as found by a forensic officer. Singam pays visit to Mallaya, Ramakrishna's driver who confirms that Reddy baited Ramakrishna to the harbor and shot him. He never told anyone since he was caught and threatened with death to him and his family. Murili also confirms that the phone company had the call history on that night erased. Singam deduces that somebody other than Reddy helped him murder the commissioner.The next day, Singam sends the entire force of Vizag to arrest every suspected criminal in the city including a great deal of Reddy's men. After shooting Selvam, Vidya begins to regret writing about Singam in the way she did. Reddy initially tolerates Singam's arrests but becomes suspicious when he takes too many of his men. Singam also confronts inspector Prakash and Krishnaraj who were involved in covering Ramakrishna's murder. Reddy calls Singam about his activity in which he reveals his true intentions. Singam later confronts Vidya for tricking him and has her arrested to pay a fine. She decides to leave Singam be afterwards. The police also identify the unnamed visitor to the station a few days ago from the funeral footage, as a local school teacher. Singam interrogates the teacher, who confirms that he knows of the cause. Weeks before Ramakrishna was killed, his grandchildren as well as 32 students died from a smog attack from the local dump which was burning trash. Singam heads to the city dumps and finds Australian medicine, hospital wastage and electronic components. Singam puts the events that have passed together and realizes that Reddy makes living off of importing Australian waste into Vizag and has killed Ramakrishna to protect it, and deduces that Reddy is working with someone in Australia to help him. Reddy, Rajeev, and Vittal all find out about his revelation and Reddy sends Ravi to kill Singam and the school teacher. Singam arrives at the harbor to inspect the wastage containers and is ambushed by Reddy's men. Ravi kills the teacher and Singam arrives to late. Vittal calls him anonymously with Reddy and Rajeev on the line and threatens to kill Singam's family if he continues with the case.The next day Singam decides he must get to the bottom of who Reddy's boss is. He starts with chasing down and arresting Ravi. He barges into Reddy's house and arrests him for all that he's done but he's only sentenced to two weeks of prison. Singam is also given permission to visit Australia to find Reddy's boss. He sends a drone into a steal company to find out who runs the buisness and confirms that Vittal is the man by searching Reddy's phone contacts. He books an appointment with Vittal pretending he doesn't know who he really is and tells him straight to his face that he'll find the man who threatened his family. Singam leaves Australia immediatly and Vittal fails to capture him. When Singam returns he finds Reddy paroled for Ramakrishna's murder when three of his goons claim to be responsible and that their supposed motivation was Ramakrishna attempting to rape one of their wives. Singam is disgusted by Reddy's action and is threatened by Reddy that he'll take his job and his life. Singam is also suspended by the CBI for speaking out of turn when they critisize him for being an extortionist and for his visit to Australia to confront Vittal. Additionally, Ramakrishna's wife blames him for her husband's defaming.Singam works to clean up the mess and continue to arrest wrongdoers on Reddy's part and campaigns against Reddy's influence and corruption in Vizag, including arresting the goons who paroled him. Singam frames Reddy for attempted assault on his own men and sends him on the run. When Singam tells Kavya that he can't let go of the case yet and Veeram finds out that Singam is still married. Vittal gets wind of Singam's rise in power and heads to India to confront him. Vittal tells Singam to stay out of his way, and Singam responds by intercepting Reddy and having Subbu shoot him since Reddy started a riot in Ram Prasad's favor six years earlier, which killed Subbu's son. Singam reveals Vittal's containers to the press and threatens to give all evidence away to the public if Vittal doesn't pay him visit. Singam angrily scolds Vittal on how his buisness has hurt people but decides to give him another chance for his employee's sake. Vittal leaves humiliated and gathers Reddy's remaining men to retaliate. At an unknown point, he dumps 400 more containers of garbage into the state's coast. Vidya attempts to make amends for her actions and help Singam with his case by interviewing Vittal while Singam visits Thoothikudi with Kayva to attend her grandmother's funeral. Singam is followed by Rajeev who's on the same flight and arrests him. In exchange for Rajeev's release, Vittal captures and drugs Vidya. Singam sends Rajeev by car to Vizag and keeps his cell location stationed in Thoothikudi with Murlili's help. Singam finds a vehicle belonging to Vittal's men and traces it to a hospital. Singam rescues Vidya who has to recover from a coma. On the way home that night, Vittal's men bomb Vizag station and attempt to kill Singam, injuring Srinivas who is sent to the hospital.The last straw, Singam finds government authorities and shows them all the evidence and events connecting Reddy, Vittal, and the wastage imports. Overriding influence of the ministers including Ram Prasad, Singam gets an arrest warrant and goes after Vittal who's on the run. Murili traces Vittal by cell signal to a highway leading to Telengara. Singam chases Vittal, who has escorts on the road while riding a container truck. Vittal gets past security in the airport despite having his passport blocked. Singam stops the plane to Malaysia from taking off. He arrests Vittal in the plane and takes him into custody. Vittal escapes into a nearby forest where Singam fights and shoots him dead. Srinivas and Vidya recover in the aftermath and Ram Prasad is fired. Six months later, Kavya is pregnant and Singam is called in by Ramnathan for another case.

            Vijay (Gopichand) comes to Kolkata in search of his lost sister. In a series of events, he ends up getting caught in a brawl with some goons and in self-defense chops a man's arm off. Later Vijay approaches a college in Kolkata to apply for a job and he is asked to get a signature in the sports quota. He later meets Gymson (Ali) and finds out he is the strongest teacher in the college. He meets a bubbly college girl Swetha (Anushka Shetty) and soon, they fall in love. One day, the gangster's son named Ajay (Ajay) finds out that Vijay is alive and he swears to avenge his father's insult and arrest.At a party, Ajay finds and meets Swetha and asks if she wants to sleep with him and cuts her blouse down. Swetha was disrespected and embarrassed, then later, Ajay follows her and Divya (Poonam Kaur), and cornering the girls with his men. After his father sent him a picture of the person he needs to abduct, Ajay found out that Divya is the key and abducted her by force. Divya was able to escape from the goons then she finds a man who comes to rescue her, who was apparently Vijay, and fights them in vain and also kills Ajay. Its aftermath resulted to an injured Divya as she was taken by Vijay to the hospital. At the hospital, Vijay revealed to Swetha that he was looking for Divya, his long lost separated sister who hated him for ignoring her when they were kids. But unbeknownst by Divya, he was forced to ignore her sister because of his dream for her to have a better life than to live in the streets with him. He hides his identity from her and grew up with the influence of a police officer until he is ready to find her in the present day to meet her. But when gangsters chase Swetha and Vijay at the hospital, Vijay was forced to fight and kill some of Ajay's goons in front of Swetha which made her scared of him on the way he fights ruthlessly and grimly.Vijay reveals his past life as a police officer to Swetha.The police officer who raised Vijay was made to die by Sivarama Goud,a gangster.Vijay then finally decided to end the problem. He finally faced Sivarama Goud (Manoj K. Jayan), Ajay's gangster father and the ruthless mastermind who also terrorized an innocent village. He created a clever plan to make Sivarama and his men to be punished in all of their crimes from the village and to other people making them end behind bars.After narrating,Divya is taken by Vijay to safety.She then pleads Vijay to accept Swetha which he reciprocates.After a while, Vijay, who decided to check on Divya, finds out that she was abducted again. Vijay is shocked to see Sivarama out of jail again and takes Divya as bait. Divya, still innocent of Vijay's true relation to her, pleads on Vijay not to fight for her anymore because they are not related. But because Sivarama made her realize that his long lost brother will die in front of her, she emotionally forgives him for the past as she, full of grief, watches Vijay being beaten up by Sivarama's goons.Vijay had the strength to finish the job successfully when he felt his sister finally acknowledging him as her brother.             RudhramadeviDuring the13th century A. D, a world traveler by name, "Marco Polo" concludes his tour and returns to his home in an Italian province. The provincial ruler there was faced with a problem of succession. Knowing well about the knowledge and wisdom of Marco Polo, the ruler calls for him and seeks his advise. After hearing about the problem in detail, the latter is both intrigued and delighted. He now got the opportunity to talk about an empress who he came across in the Indian sub-continent by name Rudhramadevi. To offer a solution to their problem he starts narrating the story of Rudhramadevi.In the southern part of the Indian sub-continent, there was a vast Kakatheeya kingdom extending all across from Maharashtra (current Indian state) border till Orissa (another current Indian state) border. It was being ruled by the emperor Ganapathideva. Not just his enemy rulers but also the Sub-kings (Saamantha kings - the internal princely state rulers and vassals) were quite eager to capture it.Even as the queen of the emperor Ganapathidheva is about to deliver a baby, all plans were set to attack the Kakatheeya kingdom. Just in case she delivers a female baby once again, leaving the kingdom without a male heir.Ganapathidheva's fears turn into harsh reality when the queen gives birth to a girl child. The kingdom once again lost the chance of having a male heir. He reckons, "Even if I temporarily succeed in stopping the Saamantha kings from attacking the heirless kingdom, how will I stop the ever lasting desire of the Saamantha kings to break the Kakatheeya empire into pieces and how will I safeguard its citizens from them? How will I secure the comfort and happiness that the citizens are enjoying in my reign? What about the Kakatheeya lineage? Is it doomed to become extinct?!" Even as the king is overwhelmed with these worrisome thoughts, his prime minister Sivadevayya comes up with a political scheme which lays the basis for something unprecedented and and unheard of, in the history till then.They make the whole world believe that the queen gave birth to a baby boy, and the just-born princess "Rudhramadevi" is introduced as "Prince Rudhradeva" to the people! The Prince, would be the future emperor and perpetuate the Kakatheeya lineage! Amidst tight security in an island and a monastery-like school (Gurukul), Rudhramadevi is transformed into a brave and courageous warrior.The secret of her feminine sexuality is carefully safeguarded not just from the whole world but even from herself... Until her teenage, she grows up oblivious to the truth that she is a girl. As time passes by, Rudhramadevi realises both her feminine sexuality as well as the reason behind her being raised as a boy. She strives hard for the welfare of the people and for the betterment of their lives. She treats her people as would a mother her own children. She implements schemes for digging numerous wells so there is abundant supply of water for cultivation. She opens up trade channels with the neighbouring kingdoms and removes unnecessary taxes raising the overall standards of living for the people.She always donned a body armour which generally kings wear. This helped in concealing her feminine identity. Nobody, not even the Saamantha kings ever suspected her sexual identity. She starts to realise that it's rather easier to keep others under illusion (the illusion that she is a male) than one's own self.One day, a Saamantha prince named "Chalukyudu" happens to see Rudhramadevi alone in her original female form, and instantly gets mesmerised by her beauty. Chalukyudu, unaware of the truth and with much excitement goes to his friend, Prince Rudhradeva (who is none other than Rudhramadevi) and explains how he fell in love with a mysterious beautiful lady. Rudhramadevi, in the disguise of Rudhradeva is now torn with conflict. On one side, living the life of a brave and courageous man and defeating the enemies. On the other side, the prince Chalukudu constantly reminding her of her womanhood. With a male chauvinistic point of view that a female must only be confined to the kitchen and the bed, they decide that she is not eligible to rule the kingdom. She is dethroned in a very public manner.Whatever she had achieved thus far, had just evaporated merely due to the fact that she was a "female". Her pleads asserting that all her deeds were only for the welfare of the people, go in vain and no one sympathises. She is humiliated even as the general public support the act. She is helpless and gets banished from the fort-palace and the capital.The very reason for projecting Rudhramadevi as a male heir was to avert chaos in the kingdom. A non-existent heir was created so that the Kakatheeya people are protected and the empire remains intact. Now that the truth is revealed, hell breaks loose and chaos prevails. From one side the Saamantha kings, and from another side the enemies start attacking. In-fighting among the Saamantha Kings leads to civil unrest. The lives of the common people are severely disturbed. Enemies start dividing the hamlets and regions among themselves. They plunder and loot villages committing all sorts of atrocities. Common people are enslaved and harassed. The very same people who earlier considered her ineligible to rule the kingdom now went running to her to be rescued. They plead her to take control once again. Rudhramadevi is enraged when she comes to know about the state of affairs. For the sake of her people she fights back storming the fort-walls. She marches all alone and collides head on with the huge army of the neighbouring enemy ruler Mahadevanayak. She valiantly fights thousands of enemy soldiers near the 7 fort-walls and makes them flee for their lives.During the battle, all are surprised when they come to know that Gona Ganna Reddy is actually not a bandit but a protector of Rudhramadevi. Projecting him as a bandit was part of her strategy to counter the ever-scheming Saamantha kings. She was systematically and clandestinely taking on her political detractors with the his help.A woman who was once brushed off as a weakling and incapable of anything tangible let alone ruling an empire, had now proved to be a formidable force. She not only turned out to be a supreme power, but also a woman with extraordinary intellect and political intelligence who rescued the Kakatheeya Kingdom and restored equilibrium. Having witnessed her capabilities and prowess, people hail her and restore her with the kingdom and the throne.Rudhramadhevi annuls her marriage with Mummidamma and gets the latter married to the brother of Prince Chalukyudu.             Mallikarjun (Nagarjuna) is a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva (Prakash Raj) but an incident during his childhood resulting in the death of his family takes away all his faith. What Malli is not aware is, the death is caused by Andhakasura (Ravi Shankar) who has waited thousands of years to control the Panchabhootha. He can achieve that only by marrying Maheswari (Anushka), a gifted child born in special planetary time. But destiny has that Mallikarjun should marry Maheswari. Will that really work? Will Mallikarjuns faith in Lord Shiva be restored? Will Andhakasura achieve his dream? All this forms the rest of the story.
